As an EMDRIA certified therapist and CIT (consultant in training) I am able to offer consultation to help you get up to 15 of your required 20 hours of consultation for EMDRIA certification. This can be accomplished in a group setting or individually. You may complete up to 10 hours of group consultation and the remaining 10 hours will need to be done individually.
As you are looking for a consultant it is important that you feel able to express not only questions and concerns but any emotions that arise out of doing EMDR. It is just as important that the person of the therapist is addressed as well as technique when it comes to using EMDR as your modality for therapy.
EMDR is my primary modality for therapy and, while I have a focus on sexual trauma and violence, I have used EMDR for a variety of complex cases. I have worked with dissociation, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, psychosis, and schizophrenia with EMDR providing relief.
